Plastics Tooling Engineer


 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. 3+ years of experience in roles associated with plastic injection molding. Previous working experience as Manufacturing Engineer, Project Management, Tool Maker, and/or Designer/Drafter. Strong Project management implementation skills a must. Experience leading or managing direct and indirect reports a plus. Knowledge with: ISO 9001: Quality and EHS policies, ISO 14001: Water Conservation, Segregation, Aspect & Impact, Contamination, and control ground prevention, energy conservation. DESCRIPTION:

To work collaboratively with plant resources (manufacturing, quality, and production), corporate resources (design, advance manufacturing), and mold makers (local and overseas) to project manage the fabrication and qualification of new plastic injection molds. Generate justification for new molds and secure capital funding. Coordinate with AME and mold makers on mold configuration, design and fabrication. Manage all communication and logistics associated with mold tune in and shipment. Oversee the implementation of all molds that are run internally including sampling and SQA-015 approval. Highlight any risks and concerns relative to product quality and/or project schedule. Coordinate effective communication across all team members, both internal and external. Effectively manage change to minimize excess and obsolete inventory. Update and maintain mold standard documentation.

Commodity Sourcing Specialist


 

Bachelor's Degree in business, with an emphasis in supply chain management or equivalent experience required. A minimum of 3+ years people management experience. Knowledge in lean skills including standard work, value stream mapping, transactional process improvements and value engineering initiatives. CPIM, CPM, completed APICS modules and MBA are a plus. Drives strategic initiatives and can execute at tactical level when needed. Bilingual (English/Spanish)

 

DESCRIPTION:

The Strategic sourcing specialist will lead the team of procurement professionals toward developing, implementing, and managing material sourcing strategies needed to achieve both short term and long term continuous cost reduction improvement plans. At the same time, will maintain the highest levels of quality and service levels to ensure an uninterrupted supply of material. This position will also collaboratively lead the effort in creating and implementing key commodity VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) projects for the division that target improved quality, delivery and cost position.

This individual will need to be innovative, analytical, and insightful with strong interpersonal skills to influence positive changes throughout the entire supply chain and respective team members. As a contributing factor in our success with continuous quality, delivery and cost solutions, this individual will be responsible for launching NPI with engineering to ensure supplier selection and alternative suppliers are in place to meet the divisional launch dates, material costs/margins, and expected supply base performance to accelerate/meet product time to market demands.

Engineering Supervisor


 

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in an electronics environment. 3+ years of supervisory/management experience. Able to lead manufacturing test and processes teams (technically). Proven experience to lead an engineering team to provide support to production to ensure equipment is well maintained and is operating within desired parameters. History of implementing robust processes to ensure high levels of quality and having products shipped to customers at a high level of quality on their desired shipment date. DESCRIPTION:

The New Products Manufacturing Engineer works closely with internal and external resources to ensure strong design for manufacturability on all new product launches. In addition, they work with the Value Stream Manufacturing Engineers to develop robust manufacturing processes by utilizing engineering drawings to design and procure assembly tooling and equipment. This resource will be expected to identify opportunities to implement new technology on new and existing product for labor efficiency and quality assurance benefits. Ideal candidates for this role will be internally motivated individuals with a positive outlook geared toward continuous learning and improvement.

Work with the various value streams to develop robust and reliable manufacturing processes. Coordinate all manufacturing deliverables for new product introduction according to the milestone process (PFMEA, tooling design & fabrication, process capability studies, layouts & routings). Manage project schedules for all deliverables for new products. Act as the lead point of contact for all new product assembly discussions. Utilize most time study methods to justify routings and layouts in advance of engineering builds. Introduce and enforce equipment & process standards across the entire facility. Follow industry technology developments and implement that which is applicable.

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (Automation)


 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience. Vast experience with SolidWorks software. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as a leader/facilitator and a participant. Excellent theoretical and applied knowledge of design and mechanical engineering concepts. Working knowledge of quality improvement methods. Ability to perform financial analysis and cost justifications. Experience in the design and support of automation equipment and production lines. Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks with minimal supervision. Strong project management skills. PLC experience with mistake proofing Automation. DESCRIPTION:

SolidWorks proficiency, provide all machined parts to the project, from conceptualization, design, subcontracting to assemble them in the line. Automation knowledge. Be familiar with automation concepts to be able to gather information and download components as needed in the model. Create detailed layout of the automated project reflecting every single element, purchased or designed in house, control cabinet, safety fences and devices as well as material and personnel routes. Hands on approach, a mechanical inclined individual capable of assembling own designs and aid in the construction of the line in areas such as structure, electrical, pneumatic, and communication. Conceive, justify, plan, and implement significant cost reduction projects. Work closely with maintenance department to improve machine reliability/reduce downtime. Specifies and works with vendors and manufacturing staff on the installation and maintenance of production equipment. Provides technical advice and troubleshooting on complex processes and equipment. Provide technical leadership to a designated product line for all design and fucnction related aspects including day-to-day problem solving and long term strategic direction for the product design. Collaborate with plant staff to achieve high levels of customer service, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency. Conceive, justify, and implement product design improvements to resolve field failure modes and implement significant product design improvements to reduce cost through the use of alternate/lower cost materials, part redesign or elimination, or elimination of labor. Provide significant improvements to improve plant quality (defect reduction). Working with component suppliers and plant materials staff, implement significant improvements in component quality (defect reduction). Efficiently manage Bill of Materials, ECO and Product Deviations.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. 7+ years as a tooling engineer with hands-on experience involving specification, procurement, qualification, maintenance, and repair of molds for injection molded components. Demonstrated experience in achieving results in areas of responsibility. Excellent theoretical and applied knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts. Working knowledge of plastic processing, statistical process control and process capability. Well organized, enthusiastic, high energy, strong work ethic. Ability to provide excellent customer service and obtain results working with others. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, Project. DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for coordination of maintenance and repair of high volume injection mold tooling. Coordinate and document the internal and external activities of the mold improvement plan. Work with the business unit tooling engineers and planners to define and complete the tasks to have molds repaired. Control the logistics to send molds out to repair and bring them back on time. Work planners, process engineers and quality engineers to re-qualify molds after major mold repairs. Responsible of adhering external and internal molds to the corporate mold maintenance procedure. Work with internal and external molders to maintain mold preventive maintenance records. Identify, justify, and implement cost reduction projects to reduce the cost of maintaining and repairing injection molds. Coordinate the inventory and purchase of injection mold spare parts. Collaborate with tooling engineers, process engineers, and quality engineers to improve the performance and consistency of injection molds and molded components. Develop the mold capacity analysis for all the molding operation tools.
